Vascular Education Foundation is delighted to introduce our new Foundation Coordinator Cecelia McIntosh.
Cecelia joined VEF in December to organize our LEA-UP dinners and community events and to assist in fundraising to meet our mission goals of providing education and health care services in Chicagoland and beyond.
Cecelia says, “I’m delighted to become a part of the Vascular Education Foundation. It is important to educate the community and bring awareness of vascular disease to create a better quality of life for those affected by it.
“Through my work with the Foundation, I can help disseminate information about preventive measures through our LEA-UP events, fundraising events, and community awareness events, in a time when healthcare is so critically important. Preventive measures are vital to continuing health and I want especially to create more screening events for people in the community.”
Growing up in the Beverly neighborhood in Chicago, Cecelia knows that healthcare in the Chicago Southland area can be a challenge. “This is where I am from and where my family lives. It’s critical to address the health needs of our community to improve quality of lives. I firmly believe that the way to do this is through education and preventive measures.”
Cecelia comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University in Chicago and an extensive background in event planning, owning a wedding and event planning company. She loves a good spreadsheet and never lets a detail go unattended. Cecelia loves to travel and spend time with her niblings. When home, she enjoys reading and trying new recipes. In fact, if you have a good recipe to share, just reply to this email!
Please join us in welcoming Cecelia! You can meet Cecelia in person at our next LEA-UP dinner on Wednesday, February 16th at 6:30 pm at Gibson’s Steak House in Oak Brook, Illinois. Please click here to reserve your seat for this CME-qualified event, Self-Care for the Physician.
